Oldest Burlington telegraph operator stricken with apoplexy
G. W. Shaw, the oldest telegraph operator on the Burlington system, employed in Omaha, suffered an apoplexy this morning. He was admitted to the hospital with little hope for recovery. Shaw was a well known figure in the west and had located hundreds of operators across the region.
