Alliance Celebrates Twenty Fifth Birthday Banquet
The Commercial Club and The Herald drew 210 Alliance residents to the Phewan Opera House on Tuesday evening for Alliance’s twenty-fifth anniversary banquet. A condensed report credits organizers Rodgers, Lockwood, Highland, Martin, Rumer, Johnston, Broome, and Boyd, plus numerous others, for tickets, funds, and program duties. The menu featured oyster soup, ham, pork, chicken, salads, fruit, and desserts, catered by Coyle. The program included a ladies quartet, speeches by Old Settlers, and a musical showcase led by Paul W. Thomas and colleagues. the event ended around 11:30 PM with attendees inspired by the town’s history.
