Fred Reynolds admitted two counts of illegal liquor possession after a raid on Radiant Beauty Parlor. Judge Tash fined him a total of 200 dollars. wife Louise Reynolds was cleared. Reynolds will serve time in county jail if bond cannot be posted.
Twin girls weighing four and a half pounds each were born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis at Eighth and Mississippi on Sunday February 26. One infant died Monday night. Burial followed at Fairview cemetery twelve miles northeast of Alliance. Services were led by Rev. S. J. Epler.
Chamber of Commerce of Alliance withdraws objections to a federal aid road route to Hemingford after talks with state and local officials. C. L. Hashman informs that the route is not final and may change after spring surveys by engineers. E. H. Morey confirms the state will conduct complete surveys to determine the better location.
In Cherry county a farm for rent placed as an unsigned display ad drew fifteen responses in three days after the first insertion and thirty more after a second run. The advertiser paid only a couple of dollars per issue and expects further inquiries as the campaign continues.
Alliance court dismisses liquor law charges against George Stafford John Bayer Wayne Reddington and L L Cook after chief witness Johnson testa formed a co conspirator and impeached evidence. Judge Tash ruled insufficient evidence and dismissed all cases.
Elizabeth Walters of Hemingford underwent tonsillectomy at Dr Hand’s office on Thursday afternoon.
W. R. Harper new scoutmaster leads a campaign to establish a permanent camp for Alliance Boy Scouts. Two sites are eyed Belmont and Broncho Lake with plans to add a swimming hole at Belmont and a summer cabin at Broncho Lake. Harper and partners will visit Belmont to discuss site options with F. L. Tollman as eight vacancies remain in the second troop.
A luncheon at the Alliance chamber of commerce drew twenty five or more votes as women discuss forming a business women’s club. A five member committee will draft the constitution and bylaws while monthly luncheons and three dollar annual dues are set.
Robinson of the Forest Lumber company married Florence Griffin of Fort Collins Colorado on Saturday February 19. They will reside in Alliance and begin their life together after the ceremony.
James H. McNew, described as the merriest jag in county court, procured liquor that left him fearful yet happy during a raid at the Radiant beauty parlor in the Alliance hotel. He defended himself, pleaded not guilty, appealed, and must raise funds by June 6 to pay the $50 fine plus costs, while remaining polite to the prosecutor.
William Coffman reported his coat stolen from a Dodge near the court house Friday morning. Police have a full description of the coat and the man who borrowed it. He should hide it away for years or risk arrest.
George Donnelly of Lincoln is in Alliance on a business trip. Mrs. G Smart is spending a few days in Denver.
A 2 p m meeting in Alliance formed a preliminary county fair organization with thirty plus farmers, ranchers and stockmen backing the plan. Committees were appointed to study laws, canvass agriculturists, and arrange meetings, with further organization set for March 9 and March 5 in Hemingford.
A Lincoln court case cites Revised Statutes to allow killing uncollared dogs if no owner tag exists. Firearms within city limits are forbidden, fines apply, and a tag mismatch like 1912 versus 1921 could affect enforcement. The piece notes many untagged dogs and warns about legal risks and local ordinances.

County Attorney Basye faced a delegation of new voters who handed him a list of tobacco dealers allegedly failing to pay license fees. Letters were sent and within a day all fees were paid. A critic accused Basye of not prosecuting, but he explained evidence is needed for conviction and noted some dealers had promptly paid.
Pupils at St. Agnes' academy were given a half holiday for Washington's birthday. After patriotic exercises they viewed slides of the Oberammergau Passion play from the 1910 production. An additional set on agriculture was added to the school collection.
Alliance volunteer fire department invites Alliance post American Legion and Post M T P A to an open house smoker and feed at city hall club rooms Friday at 7 30 pm. Guests are asked to come hungry as corks will be popped and sandwiches served after the meeting starts. A large crowd is expected.
The Lions Club in Alliance plans its inaugural meeting at the Fern Garden in the Alliance hotel at noon on Tuesday March 1. District Governor Harry E. Niven of Longmont Colorado will inaugurate the club which already has twenty five leading Alliance business and professional men as members with a charter target of forty.
Scottsbluff changes in hotel management occur after Marie Dawkins's district court complaint against John Guyton. J W Waddell resigns and moves to Lincoln hotel, Curtis Young of Beatrice takes over in Scottsbluff. Trial set for February 21 after bond posted for Guyton following alleged assault and confinement of a waitress.
