Accident in railroad yards halts new engine 1977
A brand new engine numbered 1977 suffered a head on collision with box cars after leaving the yards. The engine was damaged severely—center bent frame, smoke stack, headlight and cow catcher torn off. It will be returned to Havelock for repairs and return to service.
