Burlington schedule changes shift Alliance arrivals
A new timetable takes effect December 30 to ease heavy passenger-train traffic on the Burlington. Train 41 from the east arrives in Alliance minutes later. Train 43 arrives at 3:00 p m mountain time. Train 31 leaves Alliance at 3 15 p m mountain time for Casper. No 42 from the west unchanged. No 44 from the west arrives earlier. This follows a prior schedule change on November 25 affecting most trains in and out of Alliance.

Mrs Rebecca Squires aged 82 died at her nephew Edward Fenner’s home in Alliance after a sudden paralysis attack. Local High School Basketball Tournament Staged
Over three nights the school held its annual six game basketball tournament with elimination rounds for each class. Senior boys beat Juniors. Freshman girls beat Sophomores. Sophomore boys defeated Freshman. Senior girls prevailed over Juniors. final Wednesday saw Senior girls beat Freshmen by two points and Sophomore boys beat Juniors 15 to 13. Professor Pate called it the most interesting tournament yet and noted Sophomores won the boys title for the first time.

Soldier's body buried by mistake in Yreka
