Death of Frank Martin Linked to Local Public Life

City and county mourn the loss of Frank Martin aged 59 years 10 months 27 days after a long kidney illness. A Hemingford native, he served in the Civil War, worked as deputy to sheriffs Sweeney and Reed, and was active in politics. Funeral at the Baptist church followed by bearing by fellow veterans. He leaves a wife and daughter Mrs. W C Mounts.

Dr J S Romine of Mitchell Nebraska, accused of embezzlement and swindling about 41060 from mortgaged property, was arrested in Worcester Massachusetts on August 22 while trying to join his wife whose movements were watched. He faces return proceedings, bail offered at 30000 but not obtained.
