Liberty Loan Subscriptions Lag in Kossuth County
Subscriptions to the second Liberty Loan in Kossuth County total about 400,000, well short of the 1,250,000 county quota. Wesley and Swea City lead in contributions, with banks listing local sums totaling 232,850 though incomplete. Nationally, state and county figures show uneven but hopeful support for the war effort and African American participation is celebrated by Secretary Baker’s policy move.
