Achievement Day draws 150 women in Elk Point

About 150 women attended the Home Demonstration Clubs Achievement Day in Elk Point on September 19. Kay Nelson demonstrated 24 varieties of cheese, bread entries totaled 30, judged by Jeanette Christy. Several winners were named in white bread and white dinner rolls categories. Nine members were honored for 25 years in the clubs. Union County presented remembrances for long-term members in observance of the Dakota Territorial Centennial. Local prizes and music complemented the event, with delegates named for a county convention set for September 29 to elect a new county committee.
