Westfield activities include F L G meeting at Miss Lois Shuck’s, Ladies Aid at H B Lilly home, Catherine Beaubien visiting Sioux City, and Mrs Jas Myers returning from Akron care. Westfield defeated Akron 5 1 in Brunsville, while Sioux City Merchants beat Westfield 6 4 at Riversionx Park. Mr and Mrs Art Anderson and Mr and Mrs Walter Shearer enjoyed a Black Hills trip. Church services resume at Congregational Church with Boy Scout meeting planned.
Wesley Brown of Adaville marketed 24 yearlings and sold in Sioux City with white faces achieving the day’s second highest cattle price. Mrs Johnny DeRocher remains in St Joseph's hospital, Sioux City, recovering from goiter surgery. Violet Fry joined Mrs Roy Cassen for a city shopping trip, returning home in the afternoon. Virginia Tague and family continue frequent trips to town.

Dias Beaulieu and Fern Bennett wed. plan farming in Sioux township. Mrs. John DeRoeher recovering from operation, visiting sister Mrs. Schindel. Weather: heat, wind, then rain with cooler temps.
Union Creek News reports no services next Sunday evening. Junior Mission Band meets September 19 at Luther Hall. Ladies' Aid gathers Thursday at Luther Hall with Mrs. Frank Wilcox hosting. Local residents host and visit relatives, including E Westin of Sioux City and Walford Forslund, Wilma Ericson from Omaha, and families of Ericson, Sellberg, Hultgren, Adamson, Frisk, Sykes, and Fickhohm. Mr and Mrs Albert Anderson and Lloyd Fickhohm plan a Black Hills motor trip.

Westfield wins their fourth straight game over Akron despite rough infield. John Martin and Hartman lead, with Beaubien, Lilly, and Christensen strong on offense and defense. Akron’s Hartman and M etz match up, but Westfield’s late inning rally seals 5-1 victory.
A Saturday event titled Boots Babe and Her Buddies invites old time dance lovers to an evening of classic dancing and social time. Hosted locally, attendees can expect traditional tunes and a friendly community atmosphere.
