Fly-in draws planes and people to Akron airport
Akron municipal airport buzzed Sunday as midwest planes arrived for the annual Fly-in. Stanley Taylor, a former Akron resident now from Colorado, won the longest distance trophy. The event reported the largest turnout yet with planes lined along the strip and pilots enjoying breakfast at the golf club house.

Airman First Class Sidney E. Milburn of Elk Point has been selected as outstanding airman of the month at the USAF hospital, Fairchild AFB Washington. Milburn, a medical laboratory specialist with a Strategic Air Command unit, was honored for exemplary conduct and duty. He is a 1971 Elk Point High School graduate who attended South Dakota State University and Morningside College.
