Mrs Wyatt Heyl born Josephine Hein June 15 1892 died Sept 9 at a Hawarden nursing home after a long illness. Funeral Sept 12 10:30 at Schroeder Funeral Home Rev David Roy officiating burial Riverside Cemetery. Survived by son Donald Akron daughter Gladys Rozell Akron brother Julius Elk Point eight grandchildren six great grandchildren. Her husband died in 1959.

Susan Morehead daughter of Mr and Mrs Lowell Morehead of Westfield Iowa married Gordon Radike son of Mr and Mrs Wayne Radike of Akron August 17 1973 at 8 pm in Wesley Methodist Church Akron. Rev Ralph Burdette officiated with Bev Finch of Ireton singing Wedding Prayer and the Lord's Prayer with Vernon Ten Napel accompanying. Bride wore a toe length satin peau gown with high ruffled neckline bishop sleeves empire waist and re embroidered venice lace.

At the 40th anniversary stockholders meeting in South Sioux City Nebraska on September 5 H Edward Gates detailed loan growth, with 350 loans totaling 16.0 million dollars and a three million dollar year over year rise. Public Safety Commissioner Michael M. Sellers warns motorists against carrying portable gasoline containers in trunks. He cites fire risks, cites 1973 data, and urges use of UL approved metal red containers filled to 90 percent capacity. Akron Music Mothers plan to serve lunch at Akron High after home football games to raise funds for a new instrument. Each mother will be notified when it is her turn to serve. The effort supports the band and uniform costs for about 50 students.
