Born Minnie Meinen in Akron she married Ernest Frerichs and later resided at 326 Fourth Ave NW. She and Ernest had four daughters Leona Witt Esther Beech Mildred Drake and Arlene Miller, all of Le Mars. Around 40 relatives and friends visited to offer best wishes along with numerous other callers.

Sterling MacKinnon age 77 of Route 2 Akron died September 1 at a Le Mars hospital. Funeral services were held September 5 at Plymouth Presbyterian Church with Rev. James F. Offrint officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He was born October 23, 1895 in Plymouth County and was a lifelong resident and retired farmer. Survivors include several cousins.
