The parishes of St. Patrick and St. Catherine's Catholic Church Akron and Westfield sponsor a Sunday bazaar and broasted chicken dinner from 12 noon to 7 p.m. in the air conditioned parish hall at 3rd and Mill St Akron. Tickets are 2.50 for adults and 1.50 for children.
Ramonda Rann, daughter of Phyliss and Robert Rann of Le Mars, leaves for air force basic training at Lackland Texas on September 5. After basic, she will pursue a medical laboratory technology certificate at Nellis AFB Las Vegas. Ramonda, a 1974 Le Mars Community high school graduate, is granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Art Rozell of Akron.
The 26th installation of Akron Rainbow Assembly officers was held Sunday night with installing Marcia Harris as Worthy Advisor and Lori Hansen as Worthy Advisor. Several members spoke of plans and the theme A Friend is a Gift of God, with activities including initiations, a watermelon feed, masquerade dance, and a soup and sandwich supper.
Mr and Mrs Jim Six of Covina California visited Akron area friends last week. The Fickbohm family reunion is set for Sunday September 21 at Alcester city auditorium South Dakota with a noon pot luck. Visitors included James Porter Winters et al for Harry Jensens 80th birthday celebration. Progressing pitch at three tables followed lunch and well wishes.

Rev Lewis serves as pastor of Big Springs Baptist church. A daughter born Aug 28 1975 to Rick Myers and wife in Akron hospital.
Relatives and friends gathered at the Walter Klemme home on Sunday afternoon August 31 to celebrate birthdays. Guests included Anna Klemme Erwin Klemme Mark Lance Nielsen Gerald Klemme Shelly Gina Brad John Kaplin and others from Akron. Attendees from Le Mars included Norman Heeren Arlan Heeren Jimmy Douglas Alvin Klemme Henry Ahrend Bill Borchers Ralph Klemme Kent Russell Kevin Albert Boysen Clarence Plueger and Grace Ludwigs.
The regular meeting of World War I Barracks 1507 and auxiliary will be held Saturday September 13 at 1 30 p m at the Eagles hall in Le Mars. Refreshments will be served after the meeting by the committee.
Residents and families hosted Andrea Simonetti’s 85th birthday on August 29 with sandwiches and coffee. Guests enjoyed bingo with fruit prizes and many visitors from Akron Le Mars Sioux City and Westfield dropped by to see Ursula Strobel, Minnie Johnson, Lizzie Tindall, and others. A September bulletin board was assembled by local Friendship and Service Club members, and about 125 attendees joined a Family Reunion Picnic in the nursing home street, with plans to repeat next year.
