High elevation guess wins prize at Plymouth fair

Mrs Harlan Rowe of Le Mars won a picnic cooler in a drawing by Plymouth county soil conservation district at the county fair booth. She correctly guessed the highest elevation in Plymouth county, a hilltop between sections 7 and 8 of Sioux township at 1501 feet. Four others also identified the spot: Rod Koch Nebraska. Akron TOPS 893 met Wednesday evening with Sue Croy in charge. Secretary and treasurer reports were approved. Best loser weights were three and two pounds respectively. Rainbow girls and sponsors traveled to Sioux Falls on August 27 to bid farewell to Lyn Wang heading to the air force. They toured the zoo, met at the Holiday Inn for lunch, shopped downtown and at Western Mall, then watched Lyn depart from the airport.
