Further Increase in Soybean Carryover Forecast

Iowa State University economist Bob Wisner predicts a higher soybean carryover next year if current crop prospects hold. He cites a 300 million bushel carryover this year and an expected 350 to 370 million next year, with a 1969 crop forecast around 1,106 million bushels. Prices may fall to roughly $2.11 to $2.14 as new crop beans enter the market, while loan-driven movement could lift prices 5 to 10 cents above the loan rate later in the year.
