High individual game leaders were Lois Klemme with 208 and Ann Malcom 199 while Klemme posted 558 and Malcom 529 for 3 games. In the 3 game series Phil Beaubien led with 576 followed by Jim Henriksen at 562. Additional top game honors went to Phil Beaubien 215 and Ray Ericson 214.
In the Commercial Bowling League on Thursday September 4 the 4x4 Feeders beat 3 Farmers Co op 2 while The Odd Balls and Wells Dairy had 2 2. High 3 game series went to Alvin Beech with 594 and Bob Frerichs 580. High games were Bob Frerichs 234 and Ray Ericson 214. Akron Lumber led high team series with 2357 and high team game 869, Barwicks 851. Individual top series included Ray Raale 550 and Leonard Buryanek 546. top games saw Leonard Buryanek 233 and Arnold Staum 231.
Akron Bowl leads with a 2298 high team series, followed by Frozen Foods at 2228. Chatsworth Elev. tops high team game with 826 ahead of Akron Bowl 316. Norman Klemme earns best individual series at 530, Keith Knapp 527. Knapp also posts best individual game 213 while Richard Reed and Robert Roat tie at 203.

A twilight meeting will be held Wednesday September 17 at 6 30 PM at the Western Iowa Research Field near Onawa to observe experimental work. Lyle R. Mackey Plymouth County Extension Director notes plots include growth regulator TIBA on soybeans, rootworm control chemicals, effects of soybeans on following corn, and herbicide control on corn.
LeMars Community Theatre marks its first birthday with a four day celebration starting September 14. The event includes a party with casts and crews, public season announcements on September 15 and 16, and a September 17 tryout at 8 p.m. at LeMars High School Little Theatre. The 69-70 season opens with three one act plays directed by Bonnie Dull Joe Uaagen and Mary Agi Drennen, with fifteen acting roles ages 16 to 60. Production dates are October 17 18 and 19. Residents may express interest at tryouts or contact directors.
Taxpayers who filed 1969 estimated federal income tax must pay the third quarter installment by Monday September 15 1969. The Kansas City Service Center mailed Notice 131 with envelopes for vouchers and payments for the third and fourth installments. The Division of Rehabilitation Education and Services and the Iowa Employment Security Commission announced a cooperative agreement to maximize services for handicapped Iowans. The plan updates prior cooperation, expands manpower programs, and sets referral criteria while boosting local coordination. Iowa faces about 167,000 handicapped residents eligible for services, with 5,000 new cases annually. In 1968 the agencies served thousands and placed 7,000 handicapped workers in jobs.
A Plymouth County Extension Service event at the Le Marg Fairgrounds on Monday September 15 at 8 00 p m will discuss price outlook for fat cattle and handling new feeder cattle. Larry D Trede and Earl D Mobley will present with Lyle Mackey sponsoring the program.
