Westfield social visits across several states

Mrs Alfred Hawks returned October 21 after a two week visit with her daughter Jayne Ann in Chattanooga Tennessee and with son Dennis in Wheeling Illinois. Friends and relatives from Sioux City Ponca Slayton Vermillion LeMars and Lost Island Lake gathered for visits and birthday celebrations over the weekend and during the following days.

4-H Recognition Evening set for November 1 in Elk Point

Union County 4H will hold a recognition event Saturday November 1 at 8:00 p.m. at Elk Point City Auditorium to honor 79 individual 4-H awards across project areas and recognize clubs and leaders for outstanding 1968 69 achievements. The public is invited to attend as the 4H Club Year closes.

Appreciation for Kindness After Death of Ross Root

The family of Ross Root expresses gratitude for the acts of kindness from relatives and friends before and after his death. Thanks go to those who sent cards, flowers, memorials, food, and to the volunteers who prepared meals. Special thanks to Doctors Trotzig and Carr, hospital and nursing home staff, and Rev. High team series Barwicks 2430 and Nelson Hatchery 2368 lead the event. Arvins and Barwicks post 844 high team game while Nelson Hatchery has 842. Russell Anderson tops individual series with 564, Dale Huettmann 547. Anderson also wins high individual game with 231 followed by Huettmann 209.

Civic Bowling League High Team and Individual Honors

Frozen Foods led the league with the high team series totaling 2546 and the high team game 876 while Kerr Motor posted 2278 and 842. John Kelly topped individuals with 580 in series and Ron Loutsch had 541. Richard Reed and Darrell Easton led in games with 211 and 209 respectively.

Mixed Bowling League high scores and leaders

In the Thursday October 23 mixed bowling results, Don Caskey led with a 590 series and 227 game, joined by Carl Hinrichsen and Ray Jespersen on 226 games. Caskeys Truckline topped team series with 2646 and team game 933. Also highlighted were Norm Nielsen 556 and Karen Schroeder 440 in other league standings with top team marks by Twins 1801 and Senators 625.

Marge Dykstra led individual honors with a 236 game and 548 series while Dorothy Hope posted 470 for the high series. Mary Malcom shot 190 in the same session. The Hoosier Hotshots topped team play with a 482 and 458 game and 1336, while Ten Pinners totaled 1168 for the league high team series.
