Ross Root obituary notes long Akron farming life
Ross Root, age si, died at Akron Hospital on October 14 after a long illness. Funeral services were held October 17 at United Methodist Church with Rev. M. Connor officiating. Burial followed at St. Patrick Cemetery. Casket bearers were Porter Maynard Everett Coyle Donald Greenwood Henry Fickbohm Clifford Miller and Elton Shedd. He was born August 23, 1888 and married Mae Montagne on February 8, 1910. He farmed in the Akron area until 1962 when he retired and moved to Akron with his wife. Mrs. Root died in 1967. Survivors include son Robert Root. daughters Mrs. J. H. Earnest and Mrs. Lester Nason. brother Blaine Root. sisters Mrs. Anna Gosting and Mrs. Edith Buron. ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
