Memorial service in Iowa for Mrs. Chester Guinn observed

Akron residents attend memorial for Mrs. Chester Guinn held Thursday in Perry Iowa, with W L Mitchell and Emma Richters family members traveling from Akron. Henry Richter of Centerville visited relatives here and plans to return home this weekend. Additional guests included Schmitz and Jirsak families from Elgin Illinois and many Akron area residents at the Sparks and Lorensen gatherings.

Graham to Perform Solo Piano Concert in Akron

Akron TOPS 893 met last Wednesday with 13 members. Pledge and song opened, reports read and approved. Best adult loser shed 2 pounds, best pre-teen 1 pound. club total weight loss reached 171 3/4 pounds. Members pledged to lose weight or pay a fine next week. Judy MKlemme, secretary.

Dark of the Moon Date Change at Ye Olde Opera House

The play Dark of the Moon will now run November 7 8 and 9 due to conflicts, with Krukow directing makeup demonstrations for the cast. Sets are near completion under Bob Klemme ACT director, and volunteers are sought for costumes and stage hands at the Opera House during practice. Tryouts for Mr Scrooge are Oct 28 7 30 10 pm, directed by Brian Brosz Lia Hultgren and Pat Klemme, with December performances slated.

Mr and Mrs Orin Harris of Akron observed their 35th wedding anniversary on Saturday October 11 with a 5 pm catered dinner at Wesley United Methodist Church Akron. Sioux Valley Extension club elect officers

The Sioux Valley Extension club held its first meeting at Edith Baker's home with Agnes Claassen as co-hostess. A county council report was given and Edith Baker recounted her European trip. The second meeting, October 3 at Henrietta Hoschfer's home, featured Edith Gant as co-hostess and plans for the Christmas Fair.

They crafted spice hangings for Floyd Valley hospital boutique and discussed next years program ideas. Town and Country Champs 4-H Club Meeting Notes

The Town and Country Champs 4-H club met at Bob Nielsen’s home on October 6, 1975. One leader and 12 members attended, submitting their 4-H notebooks to the leader and receiving premiums from the Plymouth county fair. Patricia Clifton received the Outstanding Member of the Year trophy. Adjournment was at 8:50 p.m., followed by lunch.

Northwest Regional Library System trustees hold their regular monthly meeting in Sioux City on Thursday October 23 1975 at 1 00 p m in the regional office. Gift of Life campaign reaches Plymouth county deliveries

Gift of Life Campaign kits arriving in Plymouth county to distribute 4000 donor cards and raise funds against kidney disease. Donor cards indicate willingness to donate kidneys after death, aiding 75 to 100 Iowans awaiting transplants. Donor kits passed house to house with contributions returned to Farmers Savings Bank Remsen.
