Workers Pay Income Tax Under Social Security Act

The public is misinformed that the 1 percent wage tax funds only pensions. The tax is an income levy go­ing to general revenues, to be appropriated for Old Age benefits when needed. This first year should bring over half a billion dollars to Washington, with growth to several billions as the tax rises every three years.
