James L. Klauer 65 Akron postmaster for 22 years died Nov 11 after a heart attack. Funeral services were at St Patrick's Akron with burial at St Joseph's Cemetery. Survivors include wife Bernice and four sons. Military rites performed by the Hegeler Legion.

Mrs Baker and Mrs Benda attended Motivating the uninterested learner in Language Arts and Reading in Omaha. Mrs Johnson, Mrs Brown and Mrs Knudsen joined a reading workshop in Sioux City on November 6. Mr Wells and Mr Bouwman attended Competency Based Education in Marshall Minnesota on November 14.

Barwick 81 of Pierson died Friday November 9 1973 at Cherokee hospital Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a m at Michaelson Funeral Home Kingsley with Rev Harold E Siegtaff officiating Burial was in Kingsley Cemetery He was born January 3 1892 in Washta He married Mae Hoffman March 1 1916 Mrs Barwick died in 1953 He farmed in Grand Meadow Township then moved to Clark South Dakota in 1917 where he farmed 16 years They later returned to Grand Meadow and lived in Garden Grove California Survivors include two sons Clarence J of Pierson and Verle of Akron seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Obituary of Carl W Carlson 80 Beresford

Carl W Carlson 80 of Beresford died Wednesday November 7 1973 in Akron following a period in Akron hospital. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday at Dalesburg Lutheran Church rural Beresford with Rev Robert Lundgren officiating. Burial in church cemetery. Survivors include three sons Kenneth Hurley SD Dennis Akron IA and Mayor Conception Junction MO. Also ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Born June 4 1893 in Garfield township Clay County SD he homesteaded in Saskatchewan and married Anne Elizabeth Danielson December 15 1915 at Kamsack. The couple farmed near Kamsack and later returned to Dalesburg, farmed until Mrs Carlson’s death in 1964, then lived in Beresford. Preceded by wife, parents, and four sisters. Burial arranged by Wass Funeral Home.
