Scattered 4-H Club Meeting Notes November 1969

The Scattered 4-H Club met November 4 at the Elmer Delager home. Arlen Beeck led the meeting, roll call on community service, and a plan to draw names for Christmas was adopted. Arlen Beeck spoke on narcotics and the next gathering is set for December 1 at the Albert Beech home in Akron.

Death of Mrs June VanderSchaaf in Akron aged 49

Mrs. June VanderSchaaf died Friday November 7 1969 at Akron hospital after a year of serious illness. Born Geneva June Beasly October 31 1920 in LeMars she married John J. Vander Schaaf June 26 1939 in Orange City Iowa. Survived by husband six sons Mary Kelly a sister seven grandchildren and other relatives.

State Auditor reports $575,423 in delinquent Iowa sales tax

Auditor Lloyd R. Smith says an analysis as of May 29 1969 shows $575 42347 still due the State from delinquent sales tax. statewide 642 returns are delinquent. Five Plymouth County retailers owe $75015. He urges immediate action to require bonding and deposits to secure tax payments.
