May 20 art exhibit 1 to 5 p.m. May 22 baccalaureate at 8 p.m. led by Father Ernst and President Road man. May 26 commencement at 8 p.m. with address by Professor Sampson. Also May 26 school picnic at noon and a Westfield vs St Marys baseball game. attendees to bring covered dishes and utensils. buses run one hour late in morning and after game.
The Junior-Senior banquet on Saturday evening May 7 at the Martin Hotel in Sioux City featured a Toastmistress Elsie Hummel and a program including Welcome Eva Bertrand Impressions After Four Years Training Carol Filarski Class Will Pearl Holder The Animal Trainer Supt Jordan Class Prophecy Dan Connolly and a menu with chilled fruit juice roast beef corn potatoes salad rolls ice cream wafers coffee The group later attended a show and returned home after a late hour marking a highlight of their high school career.
Morning services and Sunday school mark Union Creek life with a confirmation class at Luther Hall. May events include a cemetery supper on May 26 and a Ladies Aid meeting at Mrs. Milton Ericson’s home. Numerous residents visit relatives in Sioux City and Akron, with Opal Sommervold’s birthday celebrated at home.
