Obituary Charles A Brady of Pomona dies at 63
Charles A Brady of 1556 Ganesha Place died Thursday April 26 in a local convalescent hospital. Born September 30, 1903 in Akron Iowa, he moved to California in 1927 and lived in San Diego before settling in Pomona in 1952. He worked 25 years at General Dynamics, retiring in 1966, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survived by widow Anita, a son Charles, a daughter Mrs. John Hutsel both of San Diego, a brother Joe of Grand Junction Iowa, a sister Misa Joyce Brady of Akron, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday April 30 at Todd Memorial Chapel.

Funeral was 10 a m Thursday May 3 at Schroeder funeral home Akron with Rev Ralph Burdette officiating. Burial in Logan Park Cemetery Sioux City. Survived by husband of Newport Minnesota daughter Mrs John Dick of Cottage Grove Minnesota and two grandchildren.

Mayne backs higher feed grain payments for farmers
Sixth District Congressman Wiley Mayne and three Northwest Iowa farmers testified Thursday in support of H. R. 6791 to raise feed grain payments from 15 to 25 cents per bushel for the B option. Mayne said the extra ten cents is needed to restore equity in the 1973 program and ensure fair administration of production adjustment programs. The supporters named Larry Siefken, Howard Ahrenholtz, and Clarence Miller. Mayne is the top Republican on the Livestock and Grains Subcommittee holding hearings on the bill.

Mrs Maude Dirks died the morning of April 30 1973 at St Joseph Mercy Hospital Sioux City Iowa at age 69. Born December 20 1903 in Johnson Township Plymouth County Iowa she moved with her family to Brunsville later married Edwin J Dirks May 25 1922. The couple lived in Akron from 1923 joined Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1925. Survived by husband Ed daughter Betty De Roos Omaha son Richard Dirks Akron six grandchildren three great grandchildren sister Fern Rupp Sioux City and many friends. Funeral was at Immanuel Lutheran Akron with Pastor Roy officiating and interment Riverside Cemetery.
