Eva Brown led the program introducing piano students Karen Trotzig Ellen Jelken Kim Krohn Kelly Krohn Milissa Andersen Merrilee Anderson Greta Philips Brett Nitzschke Matt Mitchell Chris Mitchell and Jim Jelken. Mary Ellen Davis thanks friends for cards flowers and visits during a hospital stay in Sioux City.

The Home Culture Club met at Evelyn Claesson's home on April 30 in the afternoon. Eleven members answered roll call. Mrs. Helen Shoulberg led a discussion of the book Harry Truman by Margaret Truman Daniels. Lunch was served by the hostess.
A patient thanks friends and neighbors for visits and cards while at St Luke's hospital and for help at a sale. Gratitude is extended to all who offered assistance and well wishes during the illness and event.
The former Marcia Mae Porter and Paul Brandt wed in a candlelight ceremony at Riverside Methodist Church with Reverend Donald Bogue officiating. Attendants included maid of honor Bernice Porter and best man Carey Banks. After a California trip, the couple will live near Westfield Iowa with both families listed as parents.

Mr and Mrs J F Brown of Okoboji joined a reunion party at Red Raven in South Sioux City after touring Hawaii with Adventurer’s Club and the Sioux City AAA Auto Club.

Wear heavy shoes or boots for protection. Never work when tired or in a hurry. Clear children pets and bystanders from the area. Never leave a running mower unattended. Do not refuel a hot running mower and store gasoline safely. Do not adjust clean or service a running mower. Do not remove safety guards. Never stand in line with the discharge chute. Do not cut by pulling a running mower toward you. Never allow children to operate a power mower. I thank all who sent cards visits flowers and remembered me on my birthday while a patient in St Joseph hospital Sioux City. Also thanks to Riverside Methodist minister Mrs George Rad Henke.
Westfield reports on a boy's district track meet in Schaller Iowa and an awards night for National Honor Society set for May 15 at 8 30 p m. Local visits include California, Akron, Sioux City and Akron hospital meals from Akron hospital kitchen delivered by Koffee Kup Klub volunteers. The column ends with a proverb about living cheaply.

Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis for Danny Olson son of Mr and Mrs Richard Olson of Minneapolis He was struck and killed by a car while jogging on Sunday April 28 Mrs Olson is the former Pat McLane daughter of Mr and Mrs Neil McLane Sr of Akron Mr and Mrs McLane and family attended the rites in Minneapolis
