Obituary for Howard F. Dean 84 Akron resident dies
Howard F. Dean, 84, of Akron, died in an Akron hospital on April 28. Services were at 10 a.m. May 1 at Schroeder Funeral Home, with Rev. Durwood Clauson officiating. Burial followed at Le Mars Memorial Cemetery. He was born January 24, 1889, in Le Mars, attended Omaha Business School, and worked for Bell Telephone in Omaha and California, later guarding a refinery in California before moving to the Akron Nursing Home in April 1972. He served in World War I. Survivors include two sisters, Helen Nichol of Bode, Colorado, and Ruth Robertson of Akron Nursing Home.

Akron resident Mrs. Robert Ross, age 92, was feted by fifteen friends on April 17 1974 at Akron First Baptist Church for seventy years of service to the church. May baskets and visits fill nursing home day
