Westfield residents share Sunday visits from Akron area friends and travelers from Sioux City and Bronson Iowa. Ladies' Aid sets 2:30 start. Massasoit club plans new features and serves a picnic lunch. Local socials include birthday celebrations, bridge games, and updates on bank closure and school events. Westfield opens baseball season with 1–0 win over Billy's Lunch in Sioux City.
Mrs. Alex Miller announced that starting Friday May 1 road patrolmen will stop drivers of vehicles without 1936 license plates and file charges. The county treasurer must list all 1935 registered cars not renewed for 1936 unless removed, destroyed or stored before February 1. The list goes to the sheriff and delinquent cars may be sold for fees. An alarm at 1:30 Wednesday morning summoned the community fire truck.
A blaze at a Mahan farm two miles west of Spink destroyed a barn with four horses harness feed and hay and badly damaged a tractor in a shed.
