Miss Elizabeth Tracy will leave River school for a town post next year while Miss Lucille Briggs and Miss Lola Tremeter are noted about town. A Liberty township operetta wowed the audience, and a marriage license was issued to Wesley Husted and Helen Hammer. The rural school board attacked state checkers as costly, urging repeal. local voters weigh Pavlik’s nomination. Included are social visits, farm labor, and obituaries for Grace Snyder and John Ahern, with community notes from Milnerville and surrounding townships.
Westfield notices recap social events and travel. Mrs. Perry Libby and daughter stayed at the Libby home in McCook while Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shearer returned from a trip to Winner. On Monday Harold Peck and Mr and Mrs Wm Vreugdenhil and family called. Alvin Sommervold is not well at this writing.
Wm Gerrietts was a caller in LeMars last Saturday. Mrs Alfred Witt helped Mrs Fred Hillrichs with her papering Tuesday. Mr and Mrs Edwin Klemme of LeMars were visitors in the Harry Reemis home Sunday. Mrs John Tammen was a LeMars caller Monday.
Republican candidate K. Hess of Kingsley Iowa declares run for State Senator from the 46th District covering Cherokee Ida and Plymouth counties. He pledges untiring efforts for the good of all subject to voters approval at the June primary.
Dr Winfred Mighell announces as a Democratic candidate for State Senator from the 46th district which includes Cherokee Ida and Plymouth counties and will face voters in the June 1 1936 primary.
Albert L Crabtree of LeMars Iowa announces his candidacy for Plymouth County Sheriff subject to the will of Republican voters at the June primary.
Citizens along the Big Sioux river in South Dakota especially in overflowed areas may call Telephone No. 57 Elk Point, S D to arrange testing for contamination. The notice urges residents to seek water safety information and testing services.
