Louis Sprenger Sr. a longtime Alcon resident, died Saturday at the home of his daughter in Sioux City. Born October 15, 1881 in Witchendorf Saxony Germany, he moved with family to Cincinnati then Beloit Kansas before settling in Akron and later Sioux City. Survived by three daughters, one son, two sisters, one brother, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 4 1971 at Schroeder Funeral Home with Masonic graveside rites at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials were set for Crippled Children’s Hospital and Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital.

U S Savings Bonds mark 30th anniversary with substantial totals. Since the first Series E sale on May 1 1941 tens of millions have bought over 185 billion dollars in bonds. About 53 billion remains outstanding while 129 billion has been redeemed to fund homes autos vacations college education and retirement. Bonds earn 5 5 percent interest if held to maturity and federal tax on interest is deferred until redemption or final maturity.

The Second Annual Plymouth County Go-Getters Track Meet at LeMars Community High School Track drew Special Education Classes across the county. Funeral held for Quigley Fletcher 65 in Palatine Illinois
