Easter Seal Society aids Plymouth County handicapped

Plymouth County residents needing help can access therapy, limb fitting, rehab training, and orthopedic equipment via the Easter Seal Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Iowa. Town Council Special Meeting March 8 1971 Actions

The town council held a special meeting March 8 1971 with Mayor Joseph Trotzig and councilors Nielsen Jespersen Tucker Kilstrom and Small present. The board authorized Supt. Davis to hire Buell & Winters to draft plans for widening Reed Street and sidewalks in the business area. A second motion authorized sewer and lift station plans for the industrial area and a lift station connecting with the main for the residential area. Minutes state both motions carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned.

Funeral services for Frank J. Langle in Sioux City

Obituary for Frank J. Langle 86 of Sioux City died Saturday after a long illness. Services were held Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Bowen officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery Akron. Survivors include two daughters, three sisters, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was born January 22, 1885 in Kingsley Iowa and lived in Westfield before moving to Sioux City in 1963. He married Elizabeth Glass in 1908.

Easter Seals Kick-off Mail Campaign in Plymouth County

Mrs. W. G. Bolser, 1971 Easter Seal Chairman for Plymouth County, announced the 42nd annual Easter Seal kick-off. Six thousand eighty letters will be mailed this week urging generous contributions to support rehabilitation and services for handicapped people as costs rise.

Twelve Farm Bureau women met at Mrs Bertsel Browns home in Johnson Township for a March meeting.
