The Border Bells 4-H club met at 2 p.m. on Monday February 21 1977 at Karen Kroksh’s home. Eight members attended. Minutes were approved. Karen Kroksh led the pledges to the 4-H and American flags. New business included bringing a foreign food to the next meeting and making party favors for a nursing home on St Patrick’s Day. A $5 contribution was allocated to the 4-H United Service Foundation. The Akron Jr Achievers met on Tuesday March 8 at Cindy Caskey's home. Theresa Loetz led the pledge to the flag and Beth Willer read the treasurer report. They set April 1 for a swimming party and April 13 for the share the fun contest with Krista Heeren and Kim Krohn planning entries.

The Akron hospital auxiliary met at 7 30 p m on Monday March 14 in the hospital meeting room. Progress coffee or teas have netted 299 to date. Sing Along books for the nursing home were purchased from this fund. The bake sale will be held Saturday April 2 from 10 a m to 5 p m at Dr Garvin's office. The meeting also covered membership cards. Members of the Home Culture club gathered Tuesday March 22 at the Helen Shoulberg residence for their meeting and activities.
Book and Thimble club members met March 15 at the high school auditorium for a swing choir performance. They expressed thanks to students and their instructor for their time. Subsequent gathering at Bess Lias home featured Esther Ferguson as hostess.

Akron event Friday April 15 from 1 30 to 3 30 p m at Immanuel Lutheran church, with another at Le Mars extension office Thursday April 14 from 7 30 to 9 30 p m.
