The Iowa State University chorus with student and faculty soloists performed an afternoon concert of selected spirituals Sunday March 27 at Collegiate Presbyterian church in Ames Sheldon and West streets. Marlin Harris son of Mr and Mrs Gaynor Harris route 3 Akron was a chorus member. The Loyal Neighbors will meet April 4 at 2:00 in Regina Popken's home.

Amy Nichole Peterson born March 24 1977 to Jason and Rhonda Peterson of Alcester South Dakota weighs 7 pounds 51/2 ounces. Jeremy John Tentinger born March 24 1977 to Tom and Glenda Tentinger of Akron weighs 9 pounds 1 ounce. Joel Robert Plueger born March 24 1977 to Larry and Cheryl Plueger of Merrill weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces with brother Joshua. Beckie Jo Harvey born March 24 1977 to Ronald and Armin Wessels Harvey of Le Mars weighs 8 pounds 8 ounces with siblings Brenda and Brian.
Vermillion area wide workshop of the Vermillion Area Arts Council was held at the University of South Dakota Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts.
