Sermon on Barabas and the Cross at First Baptist
The First Baptist church held a worshipful service led by Rev Williams with a sermon titled The Man for Whom Jesus Died based on Mark 16 1 15. He used Barabas as a moral type to urge confession of sin and acceptance of Christ’s pardon. The service stressed universal sin and the mercy shown at the cross. A separate note explains an early shorn wool incentive program for 1956 wool payments with March 31 deadline.
