Airman first class David A. Knecht of Parker South Dakota graduates from the U S Air Force air cargo specialist course at Sheppard Air Force Base Texas. The program covered special handling and storage of air freight and grants academic credits through the Community College of the Air Force. Triplet nanny goats born at Gowrie farm
A Gowrie area farmer Jared Carlson welcomed three newborn kid goats after a nanny goat, the source of his required milk, gave birth to triplets. All three kids are nannies with distinct markings: one white, one brown, and one brown and white.

PEO Chapter JC hears world of art program and elects officers
Chapter JC of the P E O Sisterhood met at Ruth Larsen's home February 18 1975 with the annual president's letter read. Gen McVay presented a program on The World of Art. On March 4 1975 at Gen McVay's home election of officers occurred with Maria Strom president Debbie Knudsen vice president Jan Harris recording secretary Wanda Philips treasurer Hyla Olson chaplain Esther Ferguson guard Gen McVay installed the new officers. The president and vice president were named delegates to the convention. An anniversary dinner is planned at JoAnn's Cafe March 18 with reservations through the committee. The group will visit Helen Adams after dinner for business and new member installation. The Rural Home Culture Club met March 3 at Margaret Adams's home with 2 pm start. pledge, scripture from Psalm 121, and hymn read by Mary Anderson. Fourteen members answered roll call and discussed conservation. Arley Philips gave federation news. Mary Anderson reported on the Akron Student Loan Fund. The Federated Women's Club county convention is March 17 at Hinton with reservations by March 13. A motion made to make the library a continuing CLP project. Founders Day will be at the Boat Club in Sioux City on April 12 1975 with next meeting reservations. Arley Philips reviewed Upstairs at the White House by Nash. The gathering enjoyed accounts of the six presidents and their families.

Anita Henrich of Akron and Donna Marie Hoffman of Westfield are among six Plymouth county seniors who submitted Iowa Farm Bureau scholarship applications. A county committee met February 25 to review and select the applicant to forward to Des Moines for further consideration. Anita is daughter of Gerald and Mrs. Henrich of Akron and attends Akron Community High School. Donna Marie is daughter of Ray and Mrs. Hoffman of Westfield and attends Westfield Community High School.

Dr William Connor of the University of Iowa outlined an alternative lifestyle to combat mid life stress discussed at a recent conference on executive stress. The program includes a plant based diet with legumes cereals grains vegetables and fruits and minimal dairy and meat, up to thirty minutes daily of isotonic exercise raising pulse to 120 130, no smoking and limited alcohol, plus a focus on the real self through laughter and affection.
