Snowstorm In Iowa Delivers Far More Than Forecast

Shorty reports Tuesday snow forecasts failed as he drove from Le Mars under a full moon. By Wednesday the storm dumped about 14 inches with rescue by three Good Samaritans. Northwest Regional Library Board Meeting Set for March 18

The regular monthly meeting of the Northwest Regional Library system board of trustees is scheduled for March 18 at 1 p.m. The session will be held at Holstein Public Library in Holstein, Iowa, Ida County, and the public is invited. A bake sale by the Ladies of St. Joseph runs Saturday March 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dr. Boyd's veterinary clinic.

Susan Tindall and Melvin Schultz Wedding Near Le Mars

Susan Tindall and Melvin Schultz wed at Adaville United Methodist Church near Merrill at 7:30 p.m. February 11, 1977 with Rev E G Berreth officiating. The ceremony featured mums carnations and pom poms in powder blue and white, organ music, violin selections, and a gown of white organza with Venise lace. The couple, Westmar College graduates, reside south of Le Mars where he farms and she teaches at Hawarden.

Hospital auxiliary notes progress of teas and bake sale

The Hospital auxiliary met Monday at 7 30 p m to approve minutes and report on progress of Progressive teas and coffees. A bake sale was set for April 2 with more details to follow. Jerald Dykstra presented floor plans for a hospital addition. Next meeting is March 14.

The 44% Club Johnson Jr. Farmers 4-H held its March meeting at Jim Harvey home with Brad hosting. President Jay Siebens led the session. 15 members answered roll call. Minutes were read and old and new business addressed. Brad Harvey gave a cattle breed demonstration. Lunch followed.

Rainbow installation marks Akron assembly 30th ceremony

Greta Philips was installed Rainbow worthy advisor of Akron assembly No. 172 on March 6. The event featured the Swing choir from Akron High School, performances of Look to the Rainbow and Where There Is Love, and a benediction by Rev. E J Berreth. Officers installed included Brenda Osterbuhr and Lori Hansen, with a reception for over 80 attendees.

Kelly named to 1977 Royal Court of Honor

Ron Kelly of Le Mars, agency manager for Farm Bureau Insurance, is honored for outstanding sales and service in 1976. He is named to the 1977 Royal Court of Honor, will serve in 1977 on the Farm Bureau Insurance agency advisory council, marking his sixth year in Royal Court membership. Kelly has been with Farm Bureau since 1959.

Minibus public hearing set in Plymouth County Iowa

The Plymouth county Senior Citizens' Minibus Incorporated seeks seven thousand dollars in the Public Transit program of the Iowa Department of Transportation.
