Harris Attends ISU Orientation Sessions

Marlin G Harris of Akron attended two day orientation meetings at Iowa State University this past week. He plans to join the college of engineering in September and took aptitude and placement tests while meeting counselors. Bergdales to observe 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bergdale of Alcester will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday June 27 with an open house at the Big Springs Baptist church six miles south and one mile east of Alcester. Federated Presidents Meet in Akron for Dollars for Scholars

Plymouth county Federated Women's club presidents and program chairmen met in Akron on Tuesday afternoon June 15 to plan the years activities. Mrs Jerold Dykstra led discussions on fundraising, especially cookbooks and recipes to support scholarships statewide. Local clubs will sell cookbooks this fall. Attendees included club leaders from Le Mars, Akron, and nearby groups along with county officials Arley Philips and Vivian McPherson.

Briar Cliff honors Anita Henrich on dean's list
