Russell Lilly of Salinas California visits before next assignment at Camp Rucker Alabama. Debhert Maynard left St Joseph Hospital and will stay with the Ivyl Knapp home before returning home. Pilgrim Fellowship ham supper drew good attendance and praise for serving. Akron visitors included Mr and Mrs Harry Nelson Mr and Mrs James Trautt Mrs Frank Simeon Rev and Mrs Donald Roberts and daughter. Sunday callers at Albert Harringtons included Mr and Mrs Ronnie Garison Sioux City and Mr and Mrs Wayre Weigel Омехs. Roy Bullock welcomed Mrs Mae Clark and her mother Mrs Kunkel. Keith Knapp and family plan a few days with daughter Mrs Wm Bull in Morrison Illinois. George Knapp plans visit. Esther Moffatt hosted Vinton Moffatt Blayton Minnesota John Van deBrask Slayton Minnesota and Richard Menken and daughter Chandler Minnesota visiting Sally Moffatt’s wedding guests.

Forty years ago at A H S commencement exercises the class of 1923, ten girls and five boys, received diplomas from Ray A. Smith the school board president. Hon H B Shankland of Des Moines gave the commencement address. A collision occurred at Akron Hospital between cars driven by Miss Laura Snyder and Dr W J Brunner with minor damage and no injuries. Chas Waterbury fractured a bone in his left foot after falling from a wagon box. Edward Johnson lost ends of two fingers on his right hand at a Tracy farm saw. James F Kennedy, 80, Akron merchant, died May 31 1928 at his daughter's home after Memorial Day observances.

Thirty four 4-H campers and four adults attended the North west Iowa 4-H District Camp at Walther League Camp on Lake Okoboji from June 3 to 5. Activities included golf archery crafts and outdoor cookery with a boat ride on the Empress. Twelve counties joined in, led by junior leaders Miss Barbara Henrich and Miss Hope Peterson. Plymouth county representatives included Ann Freking Kay Nuebel and many others across multiple groups and clubs.
