Don’t say I can’t sell it without a Want Ad
The saying urges sellers to place a Want Ad in the Register- Tribune before giving up. It reflects a humorous insistence on using the newspaper’s classified ads to reach buyers and maximize sales opportunities.

Self-made magnate in China and a contrast to Washington
In 1922 the writer oversaw Choong Foong Flour Mills at Tsinanfu North China. Miao Yen Sing, born 1874, rose from wheelbarrow coolie to head a transport and commodity business handling five million dollars of peanuts in 1921. By 1923 his plant produced 1500 barrels daily and he advised city improvements despite illiteracy. The piece then contrasts this with Washington’s brain trust and cites a trivial CCC incident in Wheeling West Virginia.
