Gandy Wagons Move Rails Fast On Urban Tracks
Above photo shows a Gandy Wagon pivoting on a special jack to align with rails. When in position the vehicle lowers and the retrac table flange-type wheels slide into place to guide it along the tracks. Volkswagen powered rear wheels drive the wagons which operate up to 50 miles an hour with full loads of nine men and tools.
