The National Foundation backed by March of Dimes funds expands direct aid to children under 19 with birth defects and arthritis. It orders 3,100 chapters to set up Special Treatment Centers and Evaluation Clinics, with polio aid continuing. Centers will offer full hospital care and outpatient clinics, plus clinical study centers for research and treatment improvements.
