A surprise birthday dinner honored Mrs. Mabel Lilly at her home with many relatives and friends present. Westfield Ladies Aid plans a June 1 meeting in church social rooms hosted by Mrs. Vera Ross and Mrs. Jennie Lilly. Other items include visits and hospital updates among local families and a weekend gathering at Ed Nelson’s with the Schuette and Nelson families.
Fifteen members attended the regular Westfield Community Center meeting on May 11. A project tour is planned for June 22 starting at 12:30 from Dixie Beaubien's home, followed by a picnic supper. Stanley Knapp led a discussion on "The Use of Money." Lunch was served by Mrs Swanson and Mrs Boetger. Members reported an enjoyable swimming party at Morningside.
Nineteen 4-H clubs and leaders from Plymouth county will travel to the 22nd Iowa State Girls 4-H Convention on the Iowa State University campus in Ames June 6 to 9 to emphasize citizenship. Nearly 1,700 girls and leaders will register and take part in workshops talks and officer elections.
Immanuel and Union Creek Lutheran churches list a week of activities led by Pastor David J. Ray. VBS opens Monday with classes for ages four to fourteen, followed by ADCW programs, radio services, and multiple choir rehearsals. Several confirmands are named: Anita Anderson and nine others.
J Stanley Rendahl pastor announces Vacation Bible School for June 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 at 9:00 a.m. for children 4 years through grade school. Sunday services include 10:00 morning worship, 11:00 Sunday school, 7:30 Crusaders B Y F, and 5:00 evening gospel. Wednesday 7:30 Bible school program.
Michael Strom pastor leads Sunday services at 9 20 a m church school at 10 30 morning worship with communion. No choir rehearsal or B Y F meetings until fall. Watch for Flower Festival postponement notice. Gift subscriptions to the Register Tribune appreciated. Some people get there by pull others by push.
