Yankton Special Reports New Distillery To Produce Alcohol for Gasoline
A Yankton 8 D dispatch says the House of Gurney will build a $400,000 distillery to turn agricultural products into alcohol for motor fuel. The plant, likely in Yankton or another South Dakota city, will supply up to 750,000 gallons annually. The firm notes a 40 percent rise in gasoline since the first alcohol blend hit the market, boosting demand for such fuel. Charles H. Gurney, secretary treasurer, disclosed the plan for districts including South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska.
