Social events include Ladies Aid meetings, a china shower planned, and curtains hemmed. multiple visits among locals highlight picnics, farewells, weddings, and new job changes. Bonnie Thornton starts at A W Hummel store. Mary Spaulding graduates from University of Iowa. Neighborhood travel includes Albert Buckingham heading to Kansas, and several families visiting relatives in Sioux City and Akron.
Mr and Mrs William Skinner hosted guests near Wakonda South Dakota. Farewell party honored Mrs A H Senne Sunday afternoon. Johnny Johnson visited the Ball brothers Sunday morning. Mrs Herman Jacobs Sr and Violet visited with Mrs Dick Hamilton and Mrs William Skinner Tuesday. Relatives gathered at Eddie Lewison’s last Thursday for Grandma Fickbohm’s 86th birthday. Mike Hultgren and sons visited at the Ball brothers’ home Sunday. Bobbie Kelley of Breckenridge Mo visited sisters Faye Oaks and others and helped with farm work. Violet spent Friday afternoon with Mrs Walter Heyl. Harvey Welch family traveled to Town and Missouri then Oklahoma to visit grandmother. Julius Ball flew to Sioux City Monday after tractor repairs.
Notified of the death of her brother George Gosting at Mitchell North Dakota and left to attend the funeral. Mrs Fina Anderson and children of near Point were recent visitors in the A A Lilly home.

A Sunday night lightning strike killed a valuable horse on John Sykes farm south of Ruble. Visitors at Henry Cassen’s home included Mr and Mrs Fred Haage and family. A large local crowd attended the M and M show in Ruble last week. Visitors near Brunsville included Mr and Mrs Fred Lucken and son Arlen at John Willer’s. Sunday guests at Barth Miller’s were many from Craig Akron Le Mars and surrounding families including Kallsens and Milbrodts. The Witt and Kallsen families also traveled to Mara
Mrs Witt and her sons remained a week visiting her parents Mr and Mrs Smith. Mr and Mrs George Miller and Mr and Mrs Ben Borchers of LeMars visited Henry Borchers. Memorial Day services drew a number from the area to Akron. Pluegar family of Irveton and Klemme Tapper and Kallsen families visited Frank Jeffers and Ben Hillricks homes.
