Westfield prepares for Old Settlers Day with ticket sales for a TV set. Tickets are available through council members and local shops, and the set is on display at A. W. Hummel in Westfield. A concession stand deadline is Saturday July 25, with calls to Mr. Tom Martin by that date. Florance Banks Dixie Beaubien Sue Mansfield Stanley Knapp Ronald Horsley travel to Pilgrim Heights on Monday July 27 for camp near Montour Iowa. Westfield Akron CVO sponsors a car wash July 25 at St Patrick’s Convent from 1 PM to 7 PM, charging 1.00 to 1.25 with vacuum. Weekend visitors include Mrs Mary Schumacher and families from Emmetsburg and Mallard.

Professor Margaret Ohlson of The State University of Iowa urged reducing sweet foods and increasing protein to fight obesity.
