A worker at the Big Sioux gravel pit was badly injured when a screening apparatus collapsed and dropped him forty feet onto gravel. Fellow workers rescued him unconscious and he was taken to a doctors' clinic with a broken forearm and multiple rib and vertebrae injuries. Tennis finals saw Dr A J Kessler and K Silkebakken win 7-6 6-4 6-3.
Cross and Talbott moved their ice cream and pop factory into a new cement block building on Mill Street. A raised portion and office occupy the front. Harvey M Strong sold his garage to Owen Davies and Floyd Hurt who will run Akron Auto Repair Co. Strong plans to work as a mechanic in Des Moines.

Max V. Jacobson, manager, announced that the Federal Land Bank Association of Sioux City will pay a 6 percent dividend to its 820 farm stockholders. Dividend checks will be mailed this week. The Sioux City FLBA is part of 99 farmer owned associations in four states owning the Federal Land Bank of Omaha.
