OWA PRESS ASSOCIATION NEWS FROM WESTFIELD reports school resumed Monday January 27 after a weather related closure. Visitors include Omaha residents Mr and Mrs Jim Marienau and daughter in Virgil Ross home. Donald Banks family in Boone Iowa. Kenneth Bern in Cherokee visiting Geo and Mrs Bern. Local observances highlight the 50th wedding anniversary of Walter and Ester Schultz in Elk Point with Lesters from Ronan Montana in attendance. Additional visits include Ed Nelson home guests Russell Anderson Elmer Hoffman Lena Mott and family. Norbert Isert and Lone Lower went to LeMars. Randall Lilly attended Wallace Lilly funeral. his mother Ivyl Knapp traveled to Des Moines then Sioux City. Ed Nelsons wife continues to recover from a fall.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon of last week January 25 for Mrs Chris Beech 78 of Chatsworth Iowa at St Matthew s Lutheran Church Chats worth with Pastor Harris Hostager officiating. Meta M Mangelson born in Feh mein Germany June 29 1891 died January 22 Akron Hospital after long illness. Married March 25 1909 to Chris Beech at Dennison Iowa they lived Akron area most of married life until retirement and move to Chatsworth in 1953. Survivors include widower son Paul Beech LeMars five daughters Mrs Paul Goergen Granville Mrs Chris Albert Hinton Mrs Alvin Frerichs Mrs Edwin Frerichs and Mrs Vincent Feauto all Akron two sisters Mrs Elizabeth Meins Chatsworth Dora Mangelson Germany a brother Jake Mangelson Hawarden twenty seven grandchildren eleven great grandchildren. Music included hymns Abide With Me and On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand with Marie Degen organist. Casket bearers Leonard Koch James Albert Edward Beeck Donald Beeck Robert Frerichs Ronald Beeck. Interment Riverside Cemetery Akron.
Mrs. Leo Frieda Phillips, 74, died Sunday January 19. Funeral services were held Wednesday January 22 in Lincoln Nebr. Survivors include husband, Roy Warnsing of Westfield Iowa and Walter Phillips of San Diego California, daughters Clara Robertson Lillian Matthews Pearl Garcia Donna Hollamon and Arlene Puls, brothers Martin John and Carl Tobin, sisters Amelia Dewey and Katie Tobin, thirty two grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers named.
Mrs Christ Beech, longtime Akron resident, died after months in the Akron Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Saturday at St Matthew's Lutheran Church with burial in Akron Cemetery. Sympathy extended to the Beech family. Several local residents visited, and students Gary Moller and Beverly Tucker spent breaks with relatives. James Moller was absent from school due to illness.

The campaign is conducted by local affiliates of the National Easter Seal Society, which aids disabled individuals. The Plymouth County Farm Bureau membership kickoff is Feb 3 at KC Hall LeMars with pancakes and sausage at 7 p.m.. Jerry Snethen will speak.
