Local residents from Akron and Battle Lake meet at Lake Benton Minnesota for a weekend visit. Several visitors spent Sunday in Akron including Grace Squires Keith Squires Ing Nelson and Laura Carlson. Willie Huebner left for Mayo Clinic tests in Rochester Minnesota. Gary Johnson of Tucson spent a week visiting relatives in Akron while E Dean Hammer of San Manuel plans to relocate to Irvine California after February 1.
Akron Community school students and faculty celebrate Gregg Lucken being chosen as a page in the state house. The selection highlights character leadership and scholastic standing, with letters of recommendation from teachers ministers and a legislator. Lyle R. Stephens State Representative.

Mr and Mrs Eldon Bryant brought travel pictures of England to the Akron nursing home. The group viewed scenes including San John Wesley's church, a thatched barn, a castle with a private chapel and banquet hall.
