Akron will celebrate the couples 25th wedding anniversary with an open house Sunday January 11 1976 from 2 to 430 pm in the church parlors of Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron A program will be held at 3 pm All friends and relatives are invited Hosting the event will be their children Mark Morey Melissa and Merrilee
Julie Singer and Kim Wiley played piano in Le Mars. Various visitors from West Bend Sioux City Pipestone Akron Beresford and Hawarden visited residents. New Year events included ice cream punch cookies ham dinner and birthday celebrations for Murel Bennett and Marel Bennett. Lizzie Tindall and Adam Tindall attended visits and several families called on residents.

Port residents welcomed relatives and friends over Christmas from Iowa Illinois and Minnesota. Mina Peters hosted Elwood and Harvey Peters and several Peters family members from Hawarden Sioux City Akron Creve Coeur and Orlando Florida. Larry Simeon hosted Ideline Simeon and Clueit Chamberlain in Minneapolis. Augusta Buehre’s home saw Clyde Buehre and Charles Dorn visitors from Sioux City Glendora California and Jodi Henshaw and Todd.
Mrs Heyl remains hospitalized at St. Joseph hospital in Sioux City in Room 358. Engagement announced for Sherry Abraham of Elk Point to Dwight Fickbohm of Akron. no date set. Miss Abraham attends South Dakota State University. fiancé is a farmer near Alcester. Numerous holiday visitors referenced from Akron Humboldt Griswold Lawton Le Mars and Sioux City. Mervin Oetken returns from Christmas in Fort Morgan Colorado.

The second Living Married program titled In a Time of Change airs at 6:00 p.m. Sunday January 11 on Channel 27 Sioux City educational station. It explores traditional versus equal views of marriage and the influence of personal values and outside forces.
