Akron’s 1975 High Points: Hud Grant Project and Senior Center

Akron reports a strong year with Hud Block Grant funds supporting a senior citizen center in the old high school gym. Town and Country Champs elect officers

The Town and Country Champs 4 H club held a special meeting at the Mike Vrana residence on December 20, 1975. One leader and 14 members were present. Officers for 1976 were elected: president Patricia Clifton, vice president Julie Hasenbank, secretary Blane Smith, treasurer Karen Kroksh, historian David Hasenbank. After adjournment members sang carols through Westfield, shared a hot lunch, and exchanged gifts.

Scattered 4-H Club Plans Sleigh Ride Party

Members of the Scattered 4-H club met December 1 at Matt Swoyer’s home with eight present. President Rodney Anderson led, Ingrid Hedeby gave the pledge, and attendees discussed a sleigh ride party set for January 11 at Anderson’s home. Jane Anderson recited the pledge, gifts were exchanged, and lunch followed. Allen Beeck reported.
