Henry Hillrichs Jr. of Craig died Thursday at Floyd Valley hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. O K Anderson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He was born February 4, 1898 in Plymouth county and married Kathryn Westergard May 24, 1923 in Sioux county. The couple farmed until retiring to Craig in 1954. Survivors include his wife, three sons Robert Akron Lowell Hawarden Donald Fremont Neb and a daughter Lois Stevens Centerville S D seven grandchildren two brothers Ben and Harry Akron and two sisters Mina Peters Akron and Mrs Andrew Andresen Hawarden.
Elk Point school administrators pursue names of kindergarten age children entering school next fall based on census figures showing 16 expected entrants, with potential moves into the district since last spring.

The group recalled a bake sale set for February 27 in Akron at 9:30 and planned a roller skating party for a later date in Orange City. Joan Warenhorst and Nancy Ruden reported on the Madrid 4-H camp. The club donated to the National 4-H Center. County Fair is August 9 to 11. Krista Brown closed with the 4-H pledge. Demonstrations included Pizza and Fondue by Nancy Ruden and Cheese why Frankfurter and Cheese Sandwich by Jill Tindall. Krista Brown spoke on How to Plan a Party, Carol Utesch on Making Cocoa. A lunch was served by Carol and her mother. Reporter Laurie Tindall.
Richard Dowling, son of Mr and Mrs Hugh Dowling, has been accepted for enrollment at Westmar College in Le Mars for the fall semester starting September 3. He attends Akron Community High School and is featured in a local student notice promoting ads.
